This year, Kiwanda Coastal Properties is celebrating 40 years as a local, woman-owned family business on the Oregon Coast.

We started more than four decades ago as a small real estate office, founded with a simple goal: to help people find a place they love on the coast. As Pacific City grew and more families began discovering this special stretch of shoreline, demand followed — and a few years later, we began managing vacation rental homes to help homeowners care for their properties and to help visitors feel truly at home here.

Since those early days, we’ve:

• Sold countless homes for happy buyers and sellers
  
• Helped homeowners responsibly share their properties
  
• Hosted thousands of family beach vacations, first trips, reunions, anniversaries, and traditions that span generations

What began as a small family operation has grown into a thriving, locally established business, supported by an amazing full-time, locally based team who care deeply about this place and the people in it.

We’re honored to be part of the fabric of Pacific City and the Oregon Coast — supporting local businesses, welcoming guests, caring for homes, and helping create the memories that bring people back year after year.

This photo contest is our way of celebrating that history — and the people, moments, and memories that have shaped the last 40 years.

Official Rules & Details

To celebrate 40 years in business, Kiwanda Coastal Properties is inviting our community, guests, and friends to help us tell the story of Pacific City through photos — from the 1980s to today.

This contest is all about celebrating real memories, supporting local businesses, and sharing what makes this place so special.

Contest Dates

• Contest runs for 2 months starting March 5

Rules of Entry:

• Post and tag us @kiwandacoastalproperties 

• Use hashtag: #kiwanda40

• Post individually, or respond to one of our contest posts with your photo. 

• Up to 5 photo entries per person! (each photo is a new chance to win)

Winners will be chosen at random. Photos must relate to Oregon Coast beach vacations, Pacific City, or the surrounding area.

Photo Guidelines

We’re keeping this fun and flexible. Acceptable photos include (but are not limited to):

• Beach days and sunsets
• Cape Kiwanda and the sand dunes
• Dory boats
• Surfing, tide pools, and coastal adventures
• Families, kids, and dogs enjoying the coast
• Simple moments: beach chairs, views, favorite spots, your favorite beach house

Winners: 1 $500 Kiwanda Coastal Properties gift certificate (to be used within 2 years). If there are more than 100 entries, there will be 2 $500 gift certificates!

Bonus wins: Tag a decade! One photo from each decade 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, or 2020s will win a bonus prize of a lovely KCP hoodie, or a $50 local restaurant gift card (TBD). You must also tag #1980s, #1990s, etc.

We reserve the right to disqualify photos that are unrelated or inappropriate (we’ll reach out if there’s an issue).

Eligibility

• Open to anyone 18 years or older
• You do not need to be a past guest to enter
• Participants must own the rights to the photos they submit
• Photos must not infringe on copyrights or third-party rights
• KCP will acknowledge your entry with a ‘like’ or note on your photo

Anniversary Bonus Prizes

We will award five (5) additional prizes, one for each decade.

All winners are selected at random. There is no voting or judging based on photo quality.

If a winner cannot use a local prize, we are happy to donate the prize value to a local South County charity instead.

Photo Use & Permission

By entering the contest, you confirm that:

• You own the rights to the photo(s) you submit
• You grant Kiwanda Coastal Properties permission to use your photo(s) on our website, social media channels, marketing materials, and future promotions related to Pacific City and our 40th anniversary

We will always do our best to credit photographers when possible.

Winner Notification

• Winners will be contacted via social media or the platform used to enter
• Winners will be announced shortly after the contest closes
• If a winner does not respond within a reasonable timeframe, an alternate winner may be selected

General Conditions

• This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Instagram or Facebook
• Kiwanda Coastal Properties reserves the right to modify or cancel the contest if necessary
• By participating, entrants agree to abide by these rules
