The Whalen house sits at the edge of the Sandlake Estuary showcasing a one of a kind view of the ever-changing tide. Otters & Blue Heron are everyday sights through the large picture windows. The Whalen house is a truly serene sanctuary, a perfect family haven where you can melt into a great book by the cozy crackling wood stove, prepare a delicious dinner in the large kitchen or take a nap in the sheltered back garden. A highlight of the home is the delightful fenced outdoor area featuring a natural flowing stream, fairytale bridges and natural landscaping.

The Whalen House is located in Sandlake, about 5 miles north of Pacific City and about 4 miles south of the Sandlake Dunes Recreation Area. It is situated on the edge of the Sandlake Estuary, overlooking Whalen Island campground. Whalen Island Park has been a favorite family campground in the area for years, featuring a private, natural, off the beaten path camping experience.

This 2 level vacation home sleeps 10 people. The main level has a large bay & garden view living room with a woodstove, seating for the whole family and a large deck. There is a kitchen/dining area off the great room with a gas fireplace, TV/DVD and a full bath with tub/shower. There is a bonus room with another full bath. Also the living room has a full futon and a hide-a-bed. Downstairs there is a bedroom with queen bed. Upstairs has 2 bedrooms, each with a queen beds and one with a private deck. Also, there is a twin bed on the landing. Linens and towels provided. Please bring your own beach towels. This is a non-smoking house.

Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, TV/DVD, stereo,no cable tv, telephone, washer & dryer. 3 cars permitted.
